Tusia Dubrowska
OAK, 2025
TRT: 14:55
It’s 2035 and the temperature has risen by 3°F. Four young women try to make sense of the world around them. OAK is a short film about acts of regeneration that are still possible. They are contrasted with images of futility in the face of climate collapse.
The root of Tusia’s last name is “dąb,” or oak in English. Situated at the point of friction between the temporalities of nature vs temporalities of late capitalism, OAK is an attempt to grapple with what it means to be (and fail as) an oak-woman.
Shot over the course of one day, this project is a proof of concept for a long-form exploration of the same subject.
